Domaine de Panisse 'Le Mazet' Cotes-du-Rhone, 2020

Crafted from very old vines (60% Grenache, 40% Syrah) and grown on n a mix of sand and silt clay/limestone and quartz soils, this equally gulpable and special wine from the village of Serignan du Comtat shows concentrated dark black and red fruits, integrated tannin, and a lovely pop of balanced acidity so rare in wines of this primary delight. Pair with something braised, or a duck confit sandwich, or, perhaps, a good book and a quiet evening. Enjoy!
