Black Walnut Block BW521 2.7" x 2.7" x 7.3"

Black Walnut Block BW5212.7" x 2.7" x 7.3"1.2 lbs. This is an odd-cut of Black Walnut that has some beautiful feather figure in it. The block features a gently curving grain pattern and a transition from dark heartwood to lighter-toned sapwood. There is a hint of burl approaching the live edge at the top of the block.This piece has been air-dried to under 10% moisture content. This piece has been planed on three sides (S3S), with the last face being inclined at an angle to the other faces. The result is a block that tapers upwards, as shown in the photos. Near the top of the block, it measures 2" by 2.7" in cross-section.
