The Pier

Still sharing some of my favorite images from our cruise on the DCL Destiny—but today zooming out to capture the entirety of the ship from the end of the long pier at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney's newest private island destination. For a sense of scale, the Destiny is 221 feet tall and 1,119 feet long, longer than Magic Kingdom's Main Street, U.S.A. As we walked the long path from the ship to the island I turned around again and again to take her in after being on board for the rest of the week. (We opted not to get off the ship in Nassau, as we've been there many times before and wanted to experience as much of the ship as we could during our five-night sailing.) This particular shot was taken at 35mm, f/2.2 to soften the rocks in the foreground, 1/4000 second to tamp down the resulting light, and ISO 100.
