Antique Red and Green Double Irish Chain Quilt | c1860s Antique Blanket

Available is an incredible antique quilt in excellent condition. This appears to have been kept in unused condition and is a wonderful addition to your antique quilt collection. MATERIALS The quilt is made in double Irish chain pattern, with alternating squares of red and green, set with white cotton fabric. The red has a small scale print with brown fabric. The green is an overdye with yellow print, as you can see in one small area where the yellow has faded and blue remains. It is bound from back to front. Backing is white. Hand quilted with white thread. Very thin lightweight cotton batting. CONDITION Excellent antique condition. One small brown mark on the back. Small tear in edge of binding. No major damage. It has not been washed and I do not recommend washing it. AGE Exact age and maker unknown. Fabrics and techniques used are consistent with a production date between 1860-1880.
