Primitive 8-Point Star Wall Quilt, c1880

A beautiful small-size quilt in rustic colors, ready for display. MATERIALS Quilt is in an 8-point star pattern with a central arrangement of 5 stars in pink surrounded by 9 brown stars around the border, set on solid cream fabric. Double border of pink and brown printed fabrics. Lightweight batting. A hanging sleeve is attached to the back. Hand quilted in grid pattern. CONDITION Fair antique condition. There is overall toning to the white fabrics. Slight separation at the beginning of the sleeve. Wear to the binding throughout. It has not been washed. AGE Exact age unknown. Estimated c1880 based on fabrics and techniques used.
