<head><meta charset="UTF-8" /> For the serious Titanic collector or museum. This special piece is a pot from the residential mansion of John Jacob Astor IV, the richest man in the world at the time of his death on Titanic in 1912. The pot possibly cooked “Astor’s Last Supper” at home. It was found in a steamer trunk marked JJA belonging to his grandson Ivan Obolensky. The trunk and its contents were long forgotten about and abandoned by the family. This is one of three pots found with that trunk, with the first smaller pot selling quickly.  The pot measures about 9 1/2” high, 9 1/2” in circumference, and weights 13lbs. The manufacture cannot be found and is perhaps located under the thick tin coating. Unlike the other two pots found in this set, this one it appears to be made of heavy steel or metal with a tin coating. It shows heavy use with dents and scrapes throughout.
