SOLD! For the Elite collector! Personally owned name stamped cooking pot (2 of 3, medium size) from the John Jacob Astor IV Mansion. “Astor’s Last Supper”

For the Top-Tier Titanic collector or museum. This special piece is a pot from the residential mansion of John Jacob Astor IV, the richest man in the world at the time of his death on Titanic in 1912. The pot possibly cooked “Astor’s Last Supper” at home. It was found in a steamer trunk marked JJA belonging to his grandson Ivan Obolensky. The trunk and its contents were long forgotten about and abandoned by the family. This is one of three pots found with that trunk, with the first smaller pot selling quickly.  Measuring about 8” high and 5 3/4” in circumference, this pot was manufactured by Bramhall Deane Company of New York and is made of copper with a tin coating. It shows heavy use with dents and scrapes throughout. The outside has stamped “J.J. Astor. 840. 2.,” as was the customary practice in wealthy kitchens of the time.
