Beehive Japanese Holly
Ilex crenata 'Beehive' Beehive could be mistaken for English boxwood because it has similar looking small-leaf, dark-green, glossy. Of course it has very different growing conditions, so be advised. Beehive is an especially dense-growing, compact, mounded form of Japanese (or boxleaf) holly that is slightly wider than high. It is quite versatile, adding texture to shrub beds and borders, also to foundation, mass, or hedge plantings. It prefers well drained, moist, slightly acid soils.
