Coral Bark Japanese Maple (seedlings)

It achieves its best color in full sun, but doesn't mind some shade. In spring, its 7-lobed, narrowly pointed, pale-green leaves emerge with contrasting red edges from red stems. In fall, the leaves turn a golden yellow. After they drop, the coral-red bark of this aptly named ornamental tree intensifies, creating an outstanding winter effect.
