  With berries, breadcrumbs and bohème, March’s flavor is a basic breakfast staple with Gallic twist. Our half-centenary flavor is French Toast Granola. First recorded in Rome in 300 A.D, Apicius included French Toast in his cookbook: ‘Cooking and Dining in Imperial Rome’. The French called it: ‘Roman Bread’. For granola, I used breadcrumbs and croutons to give bready texture to oats, almonds and coconut. For flavor, I used maple extract and cinnamon. The pièce de résistance? Mixed berries, yogurt chips and a touch of egg white 🇫🇷.
