A Fine & Rare English/American Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss by GROVE & MARCH

A Fine & Rare Antique English/American Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss by GROVE & MARCH, c. 1780-1830's.  15.5" octagon to round mid section to cannon muzzle blunderbuss barrel stamped with (2) crossed scepter proofs on the left flat of breech with engraved iron tang.  The flat faced and stepped lock plate in maker signed "Grove & March" and is equipped with a high quality roller frizzen spring.  All brass furniture includes a convex high relief engraved trigger guard with acorn finial, engraved flat side plate and upper butt plate finial.  The blunderbuss is in its original flintlock configuration.  The stock is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling.  Original horn tipped wood ram rod with worm.  31" overall length.  A fantastic looking ship's or coaching blunderbuss in good mechanical working order.
