Advanced English

In our summer Advanced English course, students will learn a variety of sophisticated strategies to boost their reading comprehension skills and enjoyment. Short stories, non-fiction, and poetry provide rich and nuanced reading material from a variety of genres. In the last four weeks of the course, students will be guided in a reading of Shakespeare's beloved summer comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. A grammar component will help young writers build their competence, while writing assignments covering a range of approaches, from narrative to analysis, contribute to make Advanced English a comprehensive English Language Arts course.  Note: An annotated copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream is included in the course material.
