Eco Printing and Bundle Dyeing Workshop- Adults

Eco Printing & Bundle Dyeing Workshop Plus 1-2-3 Michel Garcia indigo vat on hand September 21- Rain date September 28 10am to 1pm Discover the magic of creating vibrant and nature inspired designs with plants! In this hands on workshop you’ll explore two techniques: bundle dyeing and eco printing using a variety of stems, leaves, and flowers, of many that are locally sourced on Block Island.  All materials are provided, including a 30x30” silk habotai scarf and a 16x16” silk habotai pillowcase. You’ll learn how to prepare fabric based on plant type and fiber, identify local plants and their uses, and understand how heat and use natural additives to modify, draw out, and transform pigments. You’ll leave with your two finished pieces, an information packet with resources, and the knowledge to continue your own natural dyeing adventures when you get home.  In addition to the eco prints and bundle dyes, students are encouraged to bring one or two items of their own to dip in the 1-2-3
