Introducing the Blackbird Blade. Inspired by the SR-71 Blackbird, our vision was clear - engineer the most badass blade ever built. Bringing a handful of minds together rooted in the special operations community with real-world experience, we are confident we’ve built the ultimate tactical, no-nonsense blade. We started with the development of the handle, since that is the point of contact for the end user. We’ve taken the average hand size of men and increased it a little to adjust for wearing gloves during combat or hunting operations and came up with the ideal handle length. The skeletonized full-tang handle is designed to provide lightweight structure and can be used with or without our Blackbird Handles, depending on the type of operation being conducted. We are using G10 for the handle material, which is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate made of woven glass cloth and epoxy resin, which will remain grippy when wet.
