Twinkle Toes Japanese Cedar - Cryptomeria japonica 'Twinkle Toes'
Hey Lil' Twinkle Toes! I mean, really, who doesn't like a little twinkle toes? :o) The pretty Japanese Cedar is very similar to the Tansu in the growth shape and care. The growth rate is a bit slower at 1 to 3 inches per year, and the foliage color is a brighter green. The new growth flushes-out in a lighter-green color and turns to a darker-green as the branches age. Summer '25 - Plants are about ⅓ the size of the photos. They are a darling light, chartreuse green color and super cute. There is limey-green foliage sprinkled throughout that twinkles in the sunshine - thus it's name Twinkle Toes. Note that the foliage will bronze in the winter in colder areas, it's not dying. Perfect for a partly shaded spot with evenly damp soil. Growth: 1" to 3" per year Upright Broad Shape Cold hardy Zones: 6-9 or to -10F Heat Zones: 9-4 Part sun to part shade (It can handle full sun if the soil can remain evenly damp.)
