Stellar Beam Calcite with Sphalerite

A golden orange and yellow Calcite crystal from the Cumberland Mine in Smith County, Tennessee. This variety of Calcite is often referred to as "Stellar Beam" Calcite in allusion to its galactic shape. The Calcite crystal is accented by the small plate of drusy Quartz crystals and deeply saturated ruby colored Sphalerite crystals. The Cumberland Mine is located within the same geologic zone as the equally famous Elmwood Mine down the road.  Approx. 4.25" L x 3.25" H x 1.75" Deep Need a display stand?
