Sea Holly - Eryngium planum

Sea Holly is a long-lived perennial, and will treat you with it's globes of spikey flowers for years if you give it the care it needs. Luckily, it's pretty accommodating. As long as you give it full sun and well draining soil, the plant will usually become well-established. It has low water requirements, and is tolerant of poor or salty soils typical of the coastal regions. It is also relatively pest free, and requires little maintenance once it gets going.
