Big Spaces

BIG SPACES is an expansion pack sample library of a large collection of strikes, impacts, metal, drums, percussion and big hits in giant rooms and huge ambient areas, arranged into 61 drum kits. Roughly half of the samples in this sample pack are field recordings of using striking tools (hammers, mallets, drumsticks, etc.) on various objects and drums in large acoustic spaces in Berlin, and the other half are digitally processed recordings using one of two custom Max/MSP patches: one is a convolution-ish reverb that uses impulse samples and the other is an algorithmic reverb processor. The Maschine expansion pack has all kits and samples tagged for use with the Maschine browser, and the MPC Expansion pack has all kits and samples organized for the MPC software browser. All kits for all formats use a similar drum and note sample mapping for easily switching among them during production.
