Big Spaces

BIG SPACES is a cinematic ambient drum kit sample pack built around 61 drum kits and a large collection of one-shot samples, including strikes, impacts, metal hits, drums, and percussion recorded in large acoustic environments. The library focuses on expansive, resonant sounds captured in wide, open spaces. Approximately half of the samples in BIG SPACES are field recordings created by striking various objects and drums with tools such as hammers, mallets, and drumsticks in large spaces in Berlin. The remaining samples are processed versions of these recordings, shaped using custom Max/MSP patches, including a convolution-style reverb based on impulse responses and an algorithmic reverb processor. The result is a range of natural and transformed sounds with extended decay and spatial depth.
