These delicately shaped green bangle beads are sold in Pakistan, however, they are said to be manufactured in Afghanistan. They are commonly said to have been made from the shards of Roman Glass scattered along the Silk Road trade routes, and so are frequently referred to as Roman Glass. The beads themselves are modern. Their abundance in the marketplace casts doubt on whether they are truly made of ancient glass, and as a result, the common "Roman Glass" name for these beads is not accurate. But the beads are certainly beautiful in shape and color and make perfect accents in jewelry design. They are also priced to be highly affordable.
