Acer palmatum 'Aka shigitatsu sawa'

Aka shigisatsu sawa is a very nice reticulated cultivar which emerges with a beautiful unique spring color. In full sun, leaves develop a heavy tint of pink-red with contrasting dark green veins. Fall display is an impressive fiery reddish orange. Aka shigisatsu sawa is a mid sized maple that will grow to about 8 feet tall by 5-6 feet wide at mature height. Sun/part shade- does not do well in hot afternoon sun in hot climates. Best suited for zones 6-9.
