Antique French Silver Mistletoe Art Nouveau Necklace

Walking through Budapest on a cold winters day, I looked up to see the balls of mistletoe growing green in the branches of otherwise barren trees. No wonder this tree loving plant has long been synonymous with winter and the Holidays, any of these trees would have provided the perfect spot to kiss under this lucky plant.Mistletoe was a favorite motif for artist of the Art Nouveau era, and this silver necklace highlights that love of the natural form. Hand crafted in France in about 1900, this necklace is truly lovely, it measures 17 inches long and the drop measures 41.6 x 38.3 mm not including the pearl drop a the bottom. The pearl measures 6.1 mm in diameter. This necklace is hallmarked with the French Boar’s Head mark for silver.
