No woman wants to be discovered on the brink of ruin in an inferior chemise. Whether you are a lady, or just portray one onstage, these folds of fine muslin (artfully arranged, of course!) are that little bit of something betwixt you and scandal. You may also call it a shift, if you’re of the Medieval or Renaissance temper, or a "shimmy," like a certain Miss O’Hara, with her Victorian sensibilities. (And frankly, my dear, he does know what you look like without it.) We use soft cotton elastic at the wrists and neckline for comfort. The neckline is wide enough to be worn off the shoulders. Cleaning instructions: Wash in a sparkling stream; spread on grass to dry while bathing nearby. The First Law of Romance decrees that a handsome stranger will soon appear and seize the garment.
