Traveler's Robe
Exactly what Marco Polo wore in his famous travels is not recorded, but no doubt his go-to garment was a sturdy, generously cut robe with a hood to ward off the desert sun and the tropical rains, and long enough to protect him from the Alpine frost. Wide sleeves and a flared skirt permit rapid action when attacked by banditti. Nothing ostentatious, but still--mysterious. Intriguing. Conveying a certain presence. Our Traveler's Robe: Signor Polo would have loved it. Poplin. One size; approx. 56" from shoulder to hem; chest = 54" at underarm. Closed at the neck with a single brass button. Cleaning instructions: If you have drawn a map to the fabled but long-lost Diamond Mines of Immortality on the inside, do not wash!!! If not, swish it out in the next oasis and hang to dry on the tent pole overnight.
