Painted Bunting Balsa Ornament

Described as a rainbow in flight, the painted bunting is a gorgeous bird! A member of the cardinal family, the painted bunting is a shy bird and often hard to see. They eat grass seed and insects. Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand-carved and then painted with non-toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla Solentiname, Nicaragua.
