Leeuwin Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Art Series 2015
The "Art Series" represents Leeuwin’s most opulent and age worthy wines from each vintage. They are identified with paintings commissioned from leading contemporary Australian artists. Blackcurrants, cherries, dried cranberries and Satsuma plums feature on the nose at the forefront. Bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cedar and clove combine with heightened lavender notes and hints of fresh tobacco. The palate is fine with a mineral thread. It is elegant and delicately layered. Blackcurrant and cherries feature again with a subtle cassis edge. The mid palate has supple flesh with cocoa, coffee bean and cassia leading to a graphite line and powdery tannins. Cigar box, vanilla, sage and bay leaf notes may be found on the nose of the 2015 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon. It's intensely flavored, medium to full-bodied and firmly structured but ripe, with fine-grained tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish.
