Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series 2021

This rich bottle is made for the long haul, and while the toasty, brioche characters of the barrel are prominent, so are the lemon-lime popsicle and peach cobbler notes. There's a lovely, lifted line of acidity on the palate and the oak is nicely tucked away. The fruit absorbs the oak easily, retaining a floral edge to the perfume, cool but dense white fruit, and then a nutty, very lightly smoky barrel note comes through.
