Pascual Toso Malbec Alta Reserve Las Barrancas Vineyards 2015

This is a solid red with a dense and chewy texture. Full-bodied, layered and rich. Tight and focused. Very pretty. Drink now or hold. (Suckling) Slightly oakier was the 2014 Malbec Alta Reserva with notes of toast, dark chocolate and roasted coffee over a core of ripe fruit. The palate is medium to full-bodied with fine tannins and too much toast covering the violets. Wait? I think it’s silly to have more oak because the wine is more expensive. Sometimes more is less.
