Fairly young estate, that has had a meteoric rise, based in Oregon's Willamette Valley founded in 2015 by Chris and Kathryn Hermann with the help of Chris' late father Richard Hermann, renowned plant genticist. 00 being chosen as the estate's name to represent the cyclic nature of wine, the renewal of the soil, and their endless pursuit for excellency, representing their project's deep respect for their cool-climate and use of ancient Burgundian techniques, leaning heavily into Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. EGW (Extra Good White) being one of their flagshop bottlings, focusing on barrel selections of high quality vineyards, and employing a recently revived traditional technique known as "Black Chardonnay". On tasting, this wine offers layers and layers of fresh fruits, flowers, and oak influence.
