Pathways

Artist Reflections Treading on a bridge is an experience of vulnerability and of trust. We depend on the sturdiness of the structure, and we have given up freedom of motion, committing to go in one particular direction. In the case of this bridge, disappearing into the swamp, we cannot even see where it is leading us. The Talmud voices a belief that a person’s qualities are tested at the time they cross over a bridge. I take this as a lesson and a reminder to be aware of who and what I put my trust in, and what paths I commit to, even as I cannot see all the way to the end.
