Artist Reflections The air of Tzfat feels so pure — no wonder it is known as the city of Ruach (spirit). Jewish mysticism teaches that there are five main expressions of our soul, each with its own name and rank.. The first level is experienced through our basic needs for survival, like eating and drinking. The second level is Ruach, from which we encounter our desire to create and express ourselves. The air and the hills of Tzfat have been a source of creativity to generations of mystics and artists, and it is humbling and gratifying to join the fellowship of those inspired by this place.
