The Wanderer

Artist Reflections וַיִּסַּע אַבְרָם הָלוֹךְ וְנָסוֹעַ הַנֶּגְבָּה׃Then Avram journeyed in stages toward the Negev- Genesis 12:9 In my drive to photograph the natural beauty of Israel, I often conjure up images in my mind of what the forefathers saw when they wandered the land. My work is especially inspired by Abraham's response to the divine call, "go to the land that I will show you". I envision a landscape he might have encountered as he discovered the Land—a vast desert with rolling hills, with the camel as his prominent means of transportation. This camel's journey ahead represents not only the physical means of transportation that Abraham used but also the spirit of unwavering faith on his path of pursuit of the divine promise. It serves as a reminder that, in Abraham’s footsteps, we too can embark on a voyage of discovery, continuously moving forward on the path of faith with an unwavering belief in the promise of something greater.
