Aka Oni Desk Mat

1000 years ago the 赤鬼 (Aka Oni) and the 青鬼 (Ao Oni) lived deep in the mountains near a village. The Aka Oni loved humans very much and she was always thinking about how she could befriend them. She wanted to befriend the humans that lived in the village nearby. So, she invited them to come to her house but no one showed up and the Aka Oni grew extremely sad. Moved by his sister’s feelings, the Ao Oni said, "Look, I have a plan." His plan was for him to pretend to terrorize the village and then have the Aka Oni chase him off, "rescuing" the humans from him. The plan however, went horribly wrong, resulting in the death of the Ao Oni and the capture of the Aka Oni.
