The Charm of Putiong: Baked baozhong oolong

50 Gram Bags 2025 Spring 四季春 Four Seasons Spring  埔中小山丘 Putiong Hill microclimate 球型包種茶Ball-shaped Baozhong  35% cell wall destruction Level 6 of 7 charcoal refinement Years ago in Taiwan I was confused by the hype around aged oolongs.  It took me a long time to really understand & be able to detect spoilage among other tea processing core standards.  This tea here is such a welcome modern classic, featuring refined charcoal finishing that creates such a uniquely “aged” character that is pure and clear, no sour spoilage or roasting gimmicks - just a quintessentially charming and affordable Taiwanese oolong.
