The Wild Ridge of Hualien: Oriental Beauty Oolong

50 Gram Bags 2025 Spring Seeded Arbor 蒔生山 Hua Lian Coastal Ridge 花蓮海岸山脈 Oriental Beauty Oolong 東方美人 Ball-rolled 球狀半揉捻 75% Cell wall destruction Charcoal refinement level 3 of 7 I personally love these wild genetic oolongs, they are very rarely made by our artisan processor @theteaoryofeverything  The tea clearly shows some curious effects from its heritage, and is also quite tamed, a beast made beautiful, into “oriental beauty” style oolong.   I actually quite like brewing this tea more gongfu style with 7-8 grams and really pure water (zero water filter works broad scale) with Yixing wares.   Many layers of complexities and flavors, tea to be savored and studied a bit.  Here’s hoping that in the years to come our artisan can get better and better at accessing and processing this extremely unique type of tea.
