Popaw’s Peach Elixir. Gentleness, Longevity, & Protection.

Popaw’s Peach Elixir for Lughnasadh season! When I was little, Monie and Popaw would take us Peach picking out in the country of South Carolina. I also got to spend one amazing afternoon with him out there as an adult. Just me and him. It’s a time I cherish and hold close. When we went Peach picking with our own kids, I reached up to the fuzzy fruit and was overcome with the feeling of him. And I knew Peach would be a path to connect to him. Being a member of the Rose family, Peach shares many of the same healing benefits. It’s a gentle elixir that relaxes and soothes the body, especially when tense, sensitive, inflamed, or irritated. It’s also been historically used to help with dry coughs from winter dry heat, to boost immunity, and to help with sluggish winter digestion and congestion. This elixir was made from both the fruit and the leaves. The leaves have a really lovely, something-familiar something-different, kind of flavor that makes this elixir not too straightforward. Magic
