This product is a lyophilized powder of Alcohol Oxidase from Candida, 7 – 20 U/mg protein activity. Alcohol oxidase is used to catalyze the oxidation of short-chain, primary, aliphatic alcohols to their respective aldehydes.  It is useful for qualitative and quantitative determination of methanol or ethanol (blood alcohol) by colorimetric procedures.
