The pen is only 2 months old from being purchased and has never been inked except to perform a writing sample which I admit I had to do because I wanted to see the amazing flex on paper. I consider this pen in Mint Condition with boxes, leather Pelikan pouch, Pelikan literature, hang tag, and plastic cellophane the pen was wrapped in. The Pelikan Souverän M1000 is Pelikan's flagship fountain pen. The solid black pen is complemented by 24k gold plated trim. The large 2-tone nib is made of 18k gold and designated a "Fine".
