Rare Chancay Textile Sleeved Tunic

Late Intermediate Period, Ca. 1100 to 1400 AD A large and impressive garment in wonderful state of preservation and presentation.  Woven in slit tapestry technique with strong geometric box patterning and fringe border.  The motifs are human and animal/avian figures in red, yellow, brown, cream; alternating with slender interspersed panels of bird patterns.Size shirt is 25.5 in W; with sleeves 50 inches. inches wide x 31 inches Length. A nice clean example  Presented in custom frame (41 in x 57 in). (Photos are on street in daylight with reflections in glass) Provenance: Ex David E private collection. It has been continuously in the USA since at least 1997;  then by descent.
