"Concrete Jungle"

The Artist: Rosa Bluestone Perr (Brooklyn, NY) Brooklyn-based tattoo artist Rosa Bluestone Perr aka “Bluestone Babe” is lifelong New Yorker with a family history in the City dating back to Ellis Island. Raised in her father’s art studio in Greenwich Village, Rosa explained that at an early age “We weren’t allowed to watch much tv, so my parents gave us art supplies.” As she grew, her work drew on inspiration from both of her parents, along with the menagerie of artists, activists, and teachers that populated her family’s universe.  After college, Rosa found herself wanting a small, simple tattoo with a low profile and delicate lines. When she couldn’t find anyone tattooing in that style, she took matters into her own hands. Once friends saw the style of ink she gave herself, one tattoo request turned into ten, which turned into to a tattoo license and an organically growing business.
