This table is a rare and early version of a bakers table, or a table featuring one single dropleaf side, originating somewhere in the Pennsylvania countryside around the turn of the 19th century. The entire table is constructed from a premium grade of walnut which grows readily throughout Pennsylvania and from which most early furniture from the state's history derives from. Several considerably wide old growth boards are used to comprise the table's top and primary dropleaf end. The surface of the table is outstanding with all the charm and signs of wear which only centuries of continued use can produce.
