Chinese Pewter and Stone Plantain Leaf Dish Circa 1920

A hand made pewter dish in the shape of a banana leaf with a piece of green stone in the handle that resembles jade. The stone is a pale green with some white clouds in the matrix. It shows quite a few scratches, including one along its length, which would not be present if it were natural jade.  The pewter is etched to show the ribs on a leaf. It has a raised foot.   The word CHINA has been etched into the base center.   MEASUREMENTS   6 ½” (16.5 cm) long x 2 ¾” (7.0 cm) wide x 1 3/8” (3.4 cm) tall. Weighs 6.0 oz (170 g)   CONDITION   There is some wear to the pewter from age and use. The stone shows scratches, abrasions, and a couple of pits in the surface.
