Chinese Pewter and Jade Plantain Leaf Dish Late Qing

A pewter dish with hand-etching and a pale green jade handle that has been edged with a shiny brass wire. It has so much hand work.   A heavy pewter has been shaped into a design of a plantain leaf with rounded edges with etching to look like leaf ribs. The handle has a cut out section where a piece of a pale green jade has been added. The jade has white inclusions. The edges are decorated in a brass wire. The base has a raised egg shaped foot.   The mark CHINA is tooled into the base.   MEASUREMENTS   6 5/8” (16.8 cm) long x 2 ¾” (7.0 cm) wide x 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) tall. Weighs 5.1 oz (140  g)   CONDITION There are no cracks, dents, or breaks. The inside has scratches from use.   A nicely shaped dish with jade and brass decorations to decorate your home with or add to a collection.
