Chinese Rose Medallion Plate Republic Period

A handmade and hand-painted Chinese plate that depicts garden scenes. The white porcelain plate has been painted in colorful over glaze enamels in panels of birds and flowers and Chinese garden scenes. It has a shallow unglazed foot. A stamped mark on the back reads MADE IN CHINA within a rectangular cartouche. MEASUREMENTS 9” diameter (22.9 cm) x 1 1/8” (2.9 cm) deep. Weighs 15.3 oz (425 g) CONDITION There are no cracks, breaks, chips or repairs. The foot has some rough areas from manufacture. The glazes are bright and fresh. There is wear to the gilding. A fun, colorful, decorative plate to add to a collection or use to serve cookies.
