A fun and nostalgic Victorian child’s plate that taught children the alphabet while they ate. A flinty early American clear pressed glass plate with a design in the well of a crane or stork in a water setting with cattails, palm tree and water plants. The foot is shallow and squared. The central well has a frosted look. There is also frosting between the alphabet letters. MEASUREMENTS 6” (15.2 cm) diameter x ¾” (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 7.8 oz (220 g) CONDITION There is a concussion line on the back, but no chips or repairs. There are kiln flaws, such as bubbles and press lines. There is wear on the foot and well. A very over the top child’s plate to add to a collection or add a touch of whimsey to your home décor.
