A matched pair of Chinese sauce dishes for workers that carry the owners marks etched into one of the dishes. The small, shallow porcelain blue and white dishes have a floral central design. They are hand painted and have similar matching designs, but they are not exact. The foot ring is raised slightly, rounded and unglazed. The bases are glazed. The body glaze is not bright white but has a bluish tint. The cobalt used is a nice smoky blue. There are Chinese characters scratched into the well of one dish. There are no other marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 2 15/16” (7.5 cm) diameter x 13/16” (2.1 cm) tall. Weighs 3.7 oz (105 g) CONDITION There are hairlines around the rims of both dishes. The dish with the marks has two chips under the rim. The other dish has no rim chips. There are customary manufacture flaws, such as bumps, glaze reserves, and pin holes. Two small sauce dishes to use or add to your porcelain collection. Handmade and hand painted by Chinese potters.
