A small Chinese bronze for the scholars table that has that simplified look that the literati liked.   The heavy bronze has been cast in an almost hourglass shape with a shallow foot and masked handles. The vase has an aged dark patina.   MEASUREMENTS   2 ¼” (5.7 cm) diameter x 5 ¾” (14.6 cm) tall. Weighs 10 .6 oz (300 g)   CONDITION   There is a dent to one of the masked handles, although the handle is very thick and could be just a manufacture error. I don’t see how you could put a dent without breaking the handle. There are no breaks, cracks, or repairs. The patina is patchy from age and use. There is one spot on the waist where the vase rubbed on something and the bronze is visible.  It has a dull gold color and is not either red or yellow.   A small Ming bronze to add to your collection of bronzes or scholars objects.
