A distinct colorful and textured plate with a wonderful Aesthetic Movement design showing a cottage by the lake. The ceramic molded plate has a Chinese-style broken ice pattern in the cavetto. The base glaze is a thin cream color. The well has a scene of a cottage near a lake at night. The smoke coming out of the chimney lends a cozy feel. The cavetto has a colorful transfer of an urn with colorful flowers and a rose bush in bloom behind it. There are little birds perched on a branch of the rose. The rim is edged with brown. There is also a brown line around the edge of the cavetto. The plate has a shallow rounded glazed foot. The base is glazed. Several marks are stamped in the base. One reads “WEDGWOOD” and the letters “PUL” and a single letter “F”. “C234A” and the letter “B” followed by two dots are also hand painted on the base.
