FTV & CESMACH - Chiapas, Mexico

This coffee comes from two cooperatives, Finca Triunfo Verde (FTV) and Campesinos Ecologicos de la Sierra Madre de Chiapas (CESMACH), since the mid-2010s. The quality of their coffee has remained consistently high. Both cooperatives sell their coffee through a third party, allowing them to focus on producing excellent speciality coffee. With ideal conditions like heirloom coffee varieties (Bourbon, Typica), high altitude (1200–1750masl), and dedicated growers, this region has the potential to produce exceptional coffee. CESMACH, managed by Sixto Bonilla, has about 500 active members and a strong focus on quality improvement. Collaborative efforts aim to enhance coffee quality through initiatives like training Q Graders and establishing a centralized cupping lab. CESMACH and FTV farms are situated in the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, known for its rich biodiversity.
