The Effect of Performance Appraisal on Employee Performance
The general objective of the study was to assess the effects of performance appraisal on employee performance. A case study of MMDAs in Sekondi-Takoradi. The specific objectives included: To assess the relationship between performance appraisal and employee performance. To analyse performance appraisal techniques employed by the MMDAs in Sekondi-Takoradi. To identify the challenges of performance appraisal by the MMDAs in Sekondi Takoradi. The study adopted a descriptive study approach which was purely quantitative in nature. The target population of this study comprised all the workers of Sekondi-Takoradi Municipal Assembly. They are seventy-five in number. Out of the seventy-five (75), sixty-three (63) persons were sampled out for the study according to Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sampling size determination table.
