This psychedelic artwork comes across with all its surreal peculiarities: a large quantity of arhats (from the Sanskrit language "being who has reached enlightenment", or monk in service of Buddha), of different sizes, expressions and clothing, in prayer or meditation, accompanied by mythological creatures, sacred trees and monstrous demons. Takashi Murakami's Superflat style is a mix of currents: Pop influence is evident and how it is applied to forms and meanings typical of Japanese culture, through the Manga style and the Anime style; the expression is taken to the highest levels.
